Standing Solid on the Shore

There have been times when I felt I was drowning under water from the struggles in my life. Like I was out of desire to keep fighting to keep my head above water to breathe air.

Every time, Jesus reached down and pulled me up. Thank goodness I knew enough to grab his hand. My only requirement was to reach up. He did all of the work.

I surrendered my will.

He gave me his.

He would pull me out and then provide comfort and care like a life preserver that needed no energy but provided a calm in the storm.

Since the last near drowning, I believe I have been placed on solid ground. This foundation is Christ and His Holy Word.

The water still arises, the waves still break, the storms continue to visit but even when I get knocked over, even when I’m injured, even when the weight feels too heavy, I can find a place on the ground to sit or lay until the destructive force settles, like waiting out the storm and then arising from the foundational place of my will in alignment with Gods will.

This is a different place to be.

This is a different stance to hold.

This is a partnership, an agreement, that without Him I would be treading water in the ocean again.

With this knowing,

I wait.

I pray.

I trust.

I believe.

That sunny days will return and I will thrive again in the power of the Holy Spirit.

And perhaps the term thriving is relevant.

Maybe now that He is the foundation, I thrive in all that I do, surrendering to his purpose, his timing and his reasoning.

The splendor is, I find moments of awe in the wonder of his glory. The moments that leave me speechless. The moments that are filled with great joy and immense peace! They even appear in the times of great sadness and pain.

They are here.

They are accessible.

Lord help keep my eyes fixed you!

Stay Blessed, ya’all
